First Step in the Sock Pool

So here's my first attempt at knitting a sock. It's Knitty's Broadripple, knit on two 2mm Addis in Koigu KPPPM.

I gotta say, I'm not feeling the love so far.

Wow, those colors are gorgeous! I think the yarn will look great in that pattern. What's not to like?

Keep at it! I wasn't too thrilled with it when I first started knitting the pattern. Once you get further past the cuff and start to see more of the leg you'll like it much better. I liked this pattern so much that I immediately ran out and bought more Cascade Fixation so that I could knit a 2nd pair of the Broadripple.

The cuff leaves a bit to be desired, but the rest of the pattern is a lot of fun!

This is your first sock? I am smack dab in the middle of MY first sock too! But I think yours is turning out much nicer than mine.

The sock looks lovely. I didn't like my first sock either. Or my second (why go on, you ask? Oh I don't know). But now I'm totally addicted. Gotta go cast on for RPM from knitty now.

Don't worry about feeling the love right away, just keep going on the first one and when you can put it on your foot you'll start to feel some love... I'm not sock-insane like someone we know ;-) but I enjoy them when I need a break from a sweater, as long as the pattern isn't too tedious!

Good job!

First sock?? It is beautiful. You are ambitious...I am still knitting very plain "Beehive Pattern" socks...for years actually. Maybe I should jump into the sock pool too and learn something new. Socks on 2 rounds? Never tried that.
